QUESTION POSED ON: 12 March 2006
I only know of two products for detecting rootkits that can easily be used by the general computer user: The recent addition to Webroot Spysweeper and the F-Secure BlackLight. Do you know of any other "point-n-click" rootkit detectors? Are there reviews that show me how well these and other detection tools work?

Also check out Rootkit Revealer – it tackles the rootkit detection problem a little differently but does a good job. For your second question, I came across this article.
