QUESTION POSED ON: 01 June 2006
I am using WSUS server for patch management. I am getting an error message that reads, "Error connecting to the Windows Server Update Services database" when I try to open the WSUS console and I am getting a 421 event id error in the application log. I cannot open the WSUS console.

EXPERT RESPONSE
Have you recently updated your WSUS installation? I would recommend restarting the WSUS service as a first troubleshooting step. You can also try the WSUS mailing list for additional help.
