QUESTION POSED ON: 02 January 2007
I am currently using Trend Micro antispyware, Registry mechanic, Registry smart and Adware alert on my computer. But am I protected from viruses by these tools or do I need to invest in a separate application?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
Some of the features of these tools may help protect against certain virus behaviors to an extent, but not at the level that's needed for true virus protection. From what I could tell, none of these vendors tout virus protection either, so your best bet is to use an anti-virus application in addition to these tools.
