Websense Web Security Suite version 6.3.1 protects organizations from known and new Web-based threats. It protects against spyware, malicious mobile code and phishing attacks, bots and other threats. It also blocks spyware and keylogger backchannel communications from reaching their host servers. In addition, Websense Web Security Suite offers the Websense Web Protection Services that help protect organizations' Web sites, brands and Web servers.
Websense Web Security Suite blocks threats before they reach the endpoint, which decreases an organization's threat exposure time. It also manages instant messaging (IM) and IM attachments, dynamically manages network bandwidth requests and has content-aware Web reputation capabilities to flexibly manage sites that are questionable.

- New classification processing of generic exploit code: It better captures zero-day attacks, and has the granularity to select appropriate level of risk tolerance based on content-aware Web reputation factors --or resources.
- Reporting database enhancements: With this latest version, multiple database partitions are allowed per log server that report across multiple databases with an improved database schema to enhance overall performance. Another enhancement is the ability to schedule automatic database rollovers. The improved Reporting Database gives users faster access to reporting data and more flexible management of the log server.
- VMware support: Websense Security Suite version 6.3.1 supports VMware, which allows organizations to run Websense in a virtual environment. It gives users large cost savings and supports backups for business continuity.
