Microsoft has released a free tool for IT administrators who want to check the health of their Internet Security and Acceleration Server.
The Best Practice Analyzer (BPA) for the Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 1.0 is a diagnostic tool that tests configuration data collected on the local ISA Server 2004. The data comes from the ISA Server hierarchy of administrator COM objects, Windows Management Instrumentation classes, the system registry, files on disk, and the domain name system settings.
The tool gives administrators a report that identifies critical configuration issues, potential problems and provides information about the local computer. The BPA for ISA runs on Windows Server 2003.
Microsoft also offers BPAs for Exchange Server 2003 and SQL Server 2005. You can download these tools at Microsoft's download center.
